First CNW Hike of 2012
Yesterday, ¾ of the Che-Na-Wah Pioneering team (Juliana, Abi, and Deniz) took Bunks 10 and 12 on the first hike of the 2012 summer! We chose to tackle Crow Mt. on an absolutely gorgeous 4th of July afternoon, and what a great hike it was! On the way to the top, the girls numbered over 15 rock stack sculptures, and although the climb was steep at times, we were able to make a lunch break on a flatbed boulder that allowed for the most beautiful view of NY State and the Adirondack Mountain region. We finally reached the top, making a loop towards the bottom of the mountain. The girls did a great job helping each other down the steeper sections of the hike. We even had time to take pictures by the Foot Trail sign, and we stopped at Stewart’s for ice cream. All in all it was a fantastic start to the hiking season at CNW!
