Camp Habits that Stick with us at Home
Coming home in August with our camp wrists and flip flop tans makes for a difficult adjustment—especially in terms of our summer habits! For a little while, we find ourselves telling jokes to our friends at home that may make no sense, or casually utilizing camp lingo in our everyday vocabularies. Although, there are simply some habits we just can’t shake all year long! Here are the most common camp behaviors we catch ourselves, even during the off-season…
-Singing the wrong lyrics to a pop song because you like the blue and gold version better
-Hearing the song your age group danced to all summer and breaking out into the moves at a party
-Hearing a normal phrase and responding with a line from the big show
-Absent-mindedly wearing a camp sweatshirt and having people ask what that “word” is
-Screaming 2, 3, 4! during a pause in a song
-Going into a store on a hunt when you see a camp sticker on a car in the parking lot
-Feeling inclined to having a sugar cereal and waffles for breakfast on Saturday mornings
